COVID PROTOCOL

COVID PROTOCOL

UPDATED MARCH 14th, 2022

On March 14th, 2022, the Province removed restrictions and all special measures orders. This includes capacity limits, physical distancing, proof of vaccination requirements, and mandatory masks. We continue to be OPEN FOR BUSINESS and WE ARE PROVIDING SERVICES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

We will continue to provide contactless equipment pick up/drop off if requested so should you need any replacement items such as home oxygen supplies or a CPAP mask or filter, please reach out to us. When possible, inquiries, consultations and appointments will be conducted virtually or by telephone.

Once you arrive for your appointment or equipment pick up/drop off, we ask that you call our office at 368-7600. Before entry into the office, you will be screened for COVID-19 as per below screening questions. We ask that you please wait in your vehicle, and we will alert you when the therapist is ready. Our waiting area will be setup for patients who are unable to wait in a vehicle. Patients may bring a support person to their appointments.

You will be screened for the following before entry into our office:

>> Are you experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, headache, sore throat or difficulty swallowing, runny, stuffy or congested nose, vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours, acute loss of smell or taste, unusual fatigue or lack of energy, new onset of muscle aches, unexplained loss of appetite or small red or purple spots on your hands and/or feet?

>> Have you been in contact with anyone who is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms?

>> Have you been in contact with a known case of COVID-19?

>> Have you or anyone in your household been directed by Public Health to isolate?

Public Health continues to recommend the use of masks in indoor public spaces, particularly when physical distancing is not possible. As a Respiratory Clinic we have decided to continue to require patients wear a mask when attending any appointments. This allows us to continue to protect the health and safety of our patients and employees. We want to mitigate any potential risks to our employees, who are often in direct contact with immunocompromised patients, and to any other patients who enter our office.

We kindly ask that you wash/sanitize your hands upon entering our office, wear a face mask, practice proper cough/sneeze etiquette and maintain physical distancing if possible. Hand sanitizer will be available and if you arrive without a face mask, we will provide you with one.

We continue to practice increased cleaning and disinfection processes as the health and safety of our customers, patients and staff is our top priority.

As always, thank you for your understanding and patience.

Sincerely,

Staff of HorizonAire

NOTICE: SoClean 2 Labelling amendment in Canada.

On May 06, HorizonAire was notified of a recent important change to the label and instructions for use applicable to the SoClean 2 device (Medical Device Licence No. 100197) in Canada.  The notice advises that current factory settings on the device are pre-set to run for a 7 minute cycle, however tests have shown the process requires a longer sanitizing cycle of 12 minutes for optimal results. Click here to view the full recall notice.

Here are the instructions on changing the sanitizing cycle from the factory preset of 7-minutes to the 12-minute cycle:

  1. Plug the SoClean 2 device into the wall outlet.

  2.  Open the mask chamber lid

  3.  Press the hour glass button twice (2 times) until the number 7           is visible in the lower left of the LCD screen.

  4.  Press the + button until the LCD screen shows 12 in the lower

       left corner

  5.  Press the hour glass button again if you wish to change the

       auto-start time.
